A World Without Technology: A Blessing or a Curse?

It started off like any other day—people going to work, kids at school, the usual. Then, all of a sudden, everything just... stopped. Phones went dead. TVs flickered and shut off. Cars stalled right in the middle of the road, leaving drivers smacking their steering wheels in frustration. At first, everybody thought, "Okay, just a blackout, power will be back soon." But hours passed. Then days. And that’s when it really sank in—technology was gone. And it wasn’t coming back. In the middle of all this, David and Sarah were just trying to keep their two kids, Jake and Emily, safe. David had spent years working with computers, writing code, solving problems. But now? None of it meant a damn thing. Their house, once comfortable, was just four walls and a roof. Food in the fridge spoiled fast, and the grocery stores? Completely ransacked. No internet meant no news, no updates, just whispers and wild guesses. Nobody really knew what was happening. The first week? Pure chaos. People ...

The Day I Woke Up with a Superpower

I opened the eyes when I woke up, I felt something was wrong. The ceiling fan above me was spinning like slow motion and I could clearly count every blade's movement. The birds outside the window flapped the wings as saw like the television show the slow-motion flying scene. Even the clock also seemed to tick slower than usual speed. I sat up and felt confused, but I just realize that my motion completely normal, and I try to move both of my hand, they can react like normal also. It was so slow that I could watch it fall and even catch it with my hands and put it back on the table. The water in the glass also flowed out at a very slow speed and dripped onto the ground. At the first, I think is my imagination. But as I walked down to the stair, I can hear my mother’s footstep sounded sluggish and heavy, and my little brother was playing ...

If Time Travel Was Real: My First Adventure

I am a normal university student, and I am taking the finance and investment course in university. Every day I live a boring day after day. One day when I was browsing the second-hand market, I saw a remote control that said "universal remote control" on its badly damaged packaging. Curiosity drove me to wonder how omnipotent it was. So, I bought it. On the way back to the dormitory, I unpacked the remote and started playing with it. When I pressed the previous song button, the next second, I woke up in my bed. Just when I thought it was just a dream, I got out of bed and looked at my phone and realized that I had travelled back to when I first entered university. At first, I was in complete shock. My dorm room looked exactly as it did on my first day, with my old textbooks still in their original plastic wrapping and my schedule lying on my desk. Outside, I heard the same hustle and bustle of students arriving for their first day. It was surreal. Had I really travelled back ...
